Cherry Blossoms in Literature with Yurina Yoshikawa

  • March 28, 2024
  • 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • The Bookshop, 1043 W. Eastland Avenue, Nashville 37206

Yurina Yoshikawa will discuss three books by Japanese authors, translated to English, with cherry blossoms as a motif - The Tale of Genji, The Makioka Sisters and The Housekeeper and the Professor.

After Yurina’s presentation, join us for refreshments, mingling and shopping at The Bookshop.

Yurina is a writer, an instructor and Director of Education at The Porch Writers' Collective in Nashville.

The Bookshop is a nook for people who love beautiful books. Owner Joelle Herr draws upon her nearly 20 years as a book editor to research and select each and every book in the shop, including fiction, science, history, cooking, art + design, poetry, music, memoirs and children’s books.

This Mitsui Lecture Series session doubles as a Japan Week event - Japanese cultural activities leading up to the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival.

The Mitsui Lecture Series is made possible by the generous support of The Mitsui U.S.A. Foundation.
